Squares Hardware Policies

 

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping is offered through FedEx, Purolator or Canada Post. Damaged, lost or short shipments should be reported to us immediately so that we can re-ship the merchandise and/or register a damage claim with the appropriate carrier. Please do not accept packages that are obviously opened or damaged. Keep damaged goods and containers exactly as they were delivered until you're advised otherwise.

Squares Hardware is not responsible for delivery errors due to incorrect shipping information including, but not limited to errors/typos in shipping address, postal code, city or province. In the event of incorrect information we will make every effort to assist in locating lost shipments.

Make sure to inspect all freight-bound shipments prior to accepting the contents for any damage. Report damage directly to the delivery person and clearly mark the bill of lading as "DAMAGED". All damaged shipments must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery.

 

Tax Information
Squares Hardware is required to charge the appropriate Federal and Provincial taxes as dictated by each Province and Territory.  
Warranties

Warranties on products sold are provided by the manufacturer and range from 90 days to limited lifetime. Warranty information for specific products are available in their product listings and / or on each of the respective manufacturers' web sites.

In order to claim a warranty, all tools that you believe may be defective must be returned prepaid, along with a copy of your original invoice or proof of purchase, as described in our return policy . Warranties do not cover products misused, abused or that have been modified in any fashion. Normal wear and tear is also not covered by manufacturer's warranties. Please refer to our return policy and the manufacturer's warranty for complete details.

Specific exceptions are noted in the manufacturer's product warranty. To satisfy any warranty requirements, we will replace or repair (at our discretion) any warranted tool that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship. We reserve the right to withhold replacement or repair until we've had a chance to inspect the product.

All warranties and information within Squares Hardware's website is listed in specific relation to product guarantees, expressed or implied, with respect to quality, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Squares Hardware shall in no event be liable for injuries, accidental or otherwise, death to persons, or damage to property, or for incidental contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of any products.

Backorders
We do our best to avoid backorders, they are costly to us and annoying to you. If however, an item has to be backordered, our Customer Service Department will contact you and advise you of anticipated product delivery dates. Unless otherwise stated, you have the right to cancel any of your backordered items at any time before your order is shipped. If you wish, you may also choose to have us hold your entire order until all items are in stock and can be shipped together. Freight charges will still apply to backordered items designated as "heavy".
Pricing, Errors and Misprints
At Squares Hardware we make every effort to ensure that our pricing and product information including descriptions and images are accurate. However, in the event of an error, we reserve the right to correct pricing mistakes that occur as a result of  typographical errors, systemic issues, wrong images or other errors. This policy covers both regular and special pricing.Squares Hardware will make every effort to contact affected customers in the event of a systemic issue that impacts current customer orders. A return authorization and full credit will be given for orders where there are pricing issues resulting from typographical errors, wrong images or product descriptions. If a product offered on our web site is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition (see Return Policy). While every effort is made to maintain our prices, we reserve the right to adjust prices when necessary and also to substitute or discontinue any item which may become unavailable. All prices are subject to change without notice and are limited to stock on hand.
Return Policy

If you satisfied with your purchase return the merchandise within 30 days with your original receipt. We, in our discretion, will repair it, replace it, or issue a refund based on your method of payment. Returned merchandise must be in new condition and in original packaging & is subject to 10% restocking fee. No exchanges or returns on final sale, special order, clearance, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), kitchen hardware, clothing or measuring/leveling devices. In the event that a return order contains qualifying free goods based on purchase dollar amount, those products must also be returned or we retain the right to deduct their value from the refund total.

Return Terms & Conditions:

A 10% restocking fee will be applied if you wish to return a non-defective item.
Special Order and Clearance items, PPE (personal protective equipment), clothing and measuring/levelling devices are FINAL SALE. No RETURNS, REFUNDS, or EXCHANGES are accepted

-All items returned must be in their original packaging within 30 days of purchase for full credit or exchange.
-Tools and components must not show signs of use, abuse or misuse. That means the product shouldn't have been modified in any way or be dirty, cracked, dented scratched, cut or damaged.
-Shipping charges are non-refundable. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Refund of original "free shipping" charges to be assessed for returned orders. Depending on circumstance which will be determined at the time of request, the customer will be liable for restocking charges and/or freight charges.

For prompt and accurate credit on returned merchandise follow these steps:
-Contact us by email at returns@squareshardware.ca to get a Return Authorization (RA) number.
-Be sure to include a copy of the RA number in the packages being returned. If the RA number is not enclosed in your package, the shipment will be not be accepted.
-All returns will be credited in the same manner you paid us.
-No credit will be issued for returns that have been altered or abused (as described above).
-No freight collect or COD returns will be accepted.

 

SHIPPING POLICY

Squares Hardware offers FREE SHIPPING to most locations in Canada, on orders over $149.

If your order is over $149.00 (before tax) and does not exceed our maximum weight requirement, your order will ship via Purolator or Canada Post Ground for free. Need it sooner or don’t qualify for free shipping? We offer competitive real-time shipping rates at checkout.

 

Heavy & Excluded Items

Unfortunately, orders in excess of 40 lbs or over-sized packages are excluded from our free shipping policy. Orders may be picked up at either of our store locations, simply choose the ‘Store Pickup’ during checkout.

Delivery Time

We make every effort process orders within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We carry all items available for purchase online in our warehouse so you are never waiting for backorders.

 

Delivery Address Accuracy

We make every effort to insure speedy, accurate delivery of all orders; however, we are not responsible for shipments that are delayed, lost, or misdirected due to an inaccurate address being provided. We will not be responsible if additional shipping charges are accrued because of incorrect or incomplete addresses. If a problem with a shipping address is discovered, we will attempt to contact you and correct the problem however it is ultimately your responsibility to provide us with accurate information.

Free Shipping Policy Restrictions

Free shipping does not apply to large and/or heavy items (over 40lbs) or any items considered over-sized. Order totals must be a minimum of $149.00 (before tax) to qualify for free shipping within Canada.

 

There are times when an item will not qualify for free shipping even though it is under 40 lbs.  Courier companies will base weight based on a package's dimensional weight, this is calculated by L x W x H / 139.  Oversized items may not qualify for free shipping due to this restriction.

 

We reserve the right to exempt shipments from the free shipping policy if the unlikely event that the shipping rate quoted is deemed excessive. In all instances you will be contacted before your order ships to notify you of any extra freight charges not charged at the time of order. At that time you can either approve or cancel your order if you wish.

 

Our Free Shipping policy applies to most locations in Canada; however, this policy excludes areas that are considered remote by Canada Post or Purolator including, but not limited to: The Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, any island location as well as any other destination requiring ocean or air freight service in any province or territory.
